Turkish number names one “1” and Two “2” in regard to global ethmologies and the word finger: Making one to two, making two to one and add in one place

Some of the basic words used in language comparisons are number names. The first two of these number names are global words and they are used for global etymologies. Unfortunately, a sufficient etymological explanation or an original study on Turkish number names has not been recorded. The aim of this study is to highlight the origin of the Turkish bir/1 and iki/2 number names, while on the other hand to establish to link them to the global etymologies through the word, finger. © 2019 Hacettepe University 1.
